It’s Saturday night in a strange town
Getting used to my new life alone
It’s been a few months
Haven’t met anybody
So I go for a drink on my own
The Place is pretty busy
But I’ve seen these faces before
In the same chairs
Always the same stares
I’m not a stranger to them anymore
This is my Saturday night
Thinking about all those weekends
Beers with the boys
Kids and their toys
Barbeques with family and friends
No, Saturdays aren’t the same anymore
The bartender’s kind and sweet
Working towards her law degree
Cute little smile
Knowing all the while
She’s stuck Saturday nights serving me
All these lonely souls like me
This is my Saturday night
Thinking about all those weekends
Beers with the boys
Kids and their toys
Barbeques with family and friends
No, Saturdays aren’t the same anymore
It’s late and I should go home
The drinks have killed the pain
Finished my beer
I’m out of here
Bartender says, “See you again”
I think for a moment
But I know she’s right
I’ll likely see her
Next Saturday night
This is my Saturday night
